Quirimbas

The Quirimbas National Park, in Cabo Delgado, with a land and sea extension of about 7,500 km2, was inaugurated in 2002.

From the 27 islands that compose the Quirimbas Archipelagos, 11 are part of the Park, with pristine waters that hide massive extensions of coral reefs and various marine species such as dolphins, turtles, dugongs, sharks and rays.

The dense mangrove and dry miombo forests, as well as the series of inselbergs in the Taratibu area, western region of the Park, make its landscape absolutely unforgettable.

The wildlife in the mainland part of the Park is also very rich and diverse, hosting a wide variety of birds, including migratory species, and four of the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo.
